1991 COLFUTUROwas established It receives USD 13 million: USD 8 million from the main companies and entrepreneurs of the private sector, and USD 5 million from the public sector. 2007 First cooperation agreement First cooperation agreement between the Ministry of National Education, Icetex and COLFUTURO, by means of which the bases to initiate this dynamic growth are established. 2004 Strategic direction Strategic direction study fromMcKinsey, in which the growth of COLFUTURO is determined, and the goal to grow 10x is proposed. 2009 New donations Colciencias and Icetex Agreement, bymeans of which the Government undertakes to provide the funds corresponding to the part of the scholarships for the classes of 2009 to 2016. The Talen Seeding Program is created. 2012 Outsourcing begins The outsourcing for the management of Colciencias scholars begins; the first third-party management service. 2010 1.000 students per year The goal to elect more than 1.000 students per year is finally reached. 2017 A new agreement is executed A new agreement is executed between Colciencias and COLFUTURO for the 2017-2025 period, with the purpose of meeting the provisions set forth in the Conpes documents. 2015 Conpes Documents The Government undertakes, in two Conpes documents, to contribute COP 700.000 million to support the growth of COLFUTURO between 2017 and 2025, being this last year the one in which the goal to aid 2.000 per year should be reached. 13
